I updated to the developer beta yesterday. So far I've seen an improvement with the battery life. I along with a few others were experiencing quite the battery drain with the first developer beta. So far it's relatively stable.
Here's a weird bug I do notice, though. Let's say I'm in the Bard Mobile app before I lock my phone. When I unlock it, it should still have Bard open. However, it seems to go back to the home screen. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I seem to get the minor bugs that, while indeed very minor, are just annoying and unnecessary.

Bug with NLS eReaders
I've heard the left thumb key is now Escape and the right thumb key is now Activate, with no way around it. Can someone please confirm? I don't want to find out the hard way. I need my braille display in classes.
Crackling sounds in X
I've not noticed it anywhere else but don't tend to scroll quite as aggressively but finding Alex is crackling a little.
And, longer I listen to it, I' not convinced its quite back to the normal sound for the voice, hard to tell though as it's a different phone, 18 pro, it just seems to lack the same sort of clarity as before though, again, this could be the new speakers and a different sound profile from them.

Ok so public beta is out and now everytime I go into the phone app it is defaulting to the keypad tab not recents. Not a big issue but not sure if this is by design or not. Apart from that it seems to be working very well so far after 3hrs. Oh for info that is if the phone app is shutdown then opened again.
battery life
I thought the battery had improved a little bit with this latest beta, but after using it for a few days I think it's actually pretty much the same. Is this the case for anyone else?
On my 17 pro
Battery seems completely fine. Downloaded about 3.5hrs ago and the battery has dropped by 5% and I've been using it on and off all that time.
Shortcuts
The Shortcuts application cannot be used in this version, when you try to start it, the phone freezes for a few seconds, and the application simply crashes without starting, while reinstalling the application does not solve the problem

My battery life is still good. we have just downloaded two Developer betas within the past week and it takes a few days after downloading a beta in order to get a true idea of what battery life is going to be like due to all of the background processing that goes on after installing a software update. I am on an iPhone 17.

Iphone 15 pro here, battery is fine. Indexing can take a couple days depending on how much you have on your phone, so wait until that's done then look at the battery again. If you only measure it while it indexes, you'll get less than ideal results.

In the settings right at the top, it usually says indexing Siri or something and this time it doesn't say that. But I'll keep an eye on it, thanks!

Yes, on the eReader and the brailliant bi40x, it is in fact the case that left thumb key is back and right thumb key is activate. the inner thumb keys still pan. however, I did change it to how it was before. and it stuck when I went from beta 1 to beta 2.
Notifications
I have turned on optimized battery charging. Once my battery reached 80% I received a notification indicating that optimize battery charging was on and that my battery would finish charging by 4:30 AM. thereafter, whenever I received a notification from any of my apps, voiceover continued to read the optimize battery charging notification instead of reading the new notifications that were coming in. this continued until I manually cleared the notification.
