To remove AI features in Chrome for Windows, disable specific experimental flags by typing chrome://flags in the address bar and setting the following to "Disabled":
AI mode omnibox entry point
AI entry point
omni allow AI mode matches, and NTP compose entry point.
Did chrome update because of a software revision? Or did it just update after you made those flag changes? I'm thinking if it's the former, you will likely have to do this every time it updates. If it's the latter, then perhaps there is another setting to permanently remove AI features from Google Chrome?
I had not used the Windows10 machine for a while so the update must have occurred after changing the flags. Itβll be interesting to see if future updates impact Windows11 and Windows10. There appears to be a lot of discontentment around the Ask AI feature.
Like the subject says, I am not a fan of the Chrome web browser. I know a lot of people like it, and that's fine, but I have always had issues with it. My web browser of choice is Firefox, but I know people have issues with that one as well. Still, I tend to use it on my PC, and as a backup on my iPhone. π€·

Relaunch Chrome to apply changes.

Thanks for your reply. I made the appropriate changes on one Windows10 machine, then Chrome updated itself and the flags were reset.

Was it a software update?

Just another reason I hate Chrome
