I did say in the OP "For those who are interested." so sensible folks would just keep quite if they have no interest. My only request is that the moderators should make sure that there's a free and open environment here to post stuff unless the post is expressly against the guidelines of the website. It should not be that I have to think 15 times before posting here something interesting, if one person would make the whole stuff a mess and that I'd then have to defend myself over something which is entirely pointless. And that's what's happening here. I'm being honest here. I don't feel very confident about posting/commenting here these days because the impression is simply that it's targetted. I mean, unless that open environment is there, I, and many others like me, will just choose not to post stuff, and go on with our lives. noone does these things because it's an obligation; we do it because we want the community to benefit and because we like having a constructive discussion. If this kind of environment persists, the ultimate losers will be the community. And yes, if what I say is off the guidelines, the mods can takedown the post. No issues.

May I ask how much did it cost? Did you buy it in your country, or, did you import it?

Hi Gokul,
I am looking forward to learning some more about the Meta Display Glasses, and would be grateful if you would continue to post your thoughts and experiences.
But most of all, I genuinely hope that you enjoy your new Glasses and all of the possabilities they unlock.

Hi all,

I appreciate that many here have very passionate opinions about the Meta Glasses. At the same time, lately discussions about the Meta Glasses on AppleVis have often gotten derailed and turned into an unproductive and unhelpful back-and-forth about the utility of the glasses, even when the topic at hand did not seek input in that respect.

With this in mind, going forward I ask that discussion in this thread please be related specifically to the Ray Ban Meta Display Glasses. If the Meta Glasses are not of interest to you, I ask that you please allow those who are interested to continue the discussion. If you would like to debate the overall utility of the Meta Glasses for blind/DeafBlind/low vision users, you are welcome to create a new, dedicated thread for this purpose.

As a low vision user, I am interested in how well these work. Last year, I got a pair of the XReal 2 glasses on sale, as I thought they might be a nice way to kick back and watch some stuff from my phone. It was neat in theory, but didn't work well with my vision at all. I ended up trading them to a friend, and got a Quest 3 out of the deal.

If I recall, the Meta glasses only have the display on the right eye? This is bad for me because my left eye is the dominent one. I'd be curious how visible the text and icons are, and what kind of field of view they have. When I tried the XReal glasses, my big problem was that I couldn't see part of the screen well, because while my left eye sees better, its peripheral vision to my left is really bad. So I had trouble seeing part of the screen even with my better eye.

I honestly have learned more subtle things about my vision since dabbling with virtual and augmented reality devices the past several years.

I'm also curious how the band works, and if there are gestures that could work with audio only versions of the glasses like the Raybans.

I do also agree that having a few people always coming into a thread just to hate on everything does get old. If there's a topic I'm not interested in, I just don't say anything.

Of course I'm interested. I've been an advocate for the Meta Ray-Ban's ever since I got mine back in 2024, admittedly since then, some of the more recent updates to the AI software have made the overall experience a bit frustrating at times, however I still feel they are the current best choice for smart glasses on the market right now. I know there are other smart glasses in the works, but until they come out I will stick with what I know.
Please do continue updating us on your findings and experiences with these newer Meta display glasses, and the Neuro-band. 😎
