Accessibility Comments

This app has improved majorly since I emailed the developer. Most of the app is clearly labeled. A few unlabeled buttons here and there, but I've already emailed the developers so a fix should be on the way soon.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads most page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some accessibility issues with this app, but it can still be used if you are willing to tolerate these issues and learn how to work around them.

Everyone has their personal experience. But this one is yet another unsafe environment for women.
Its terms of use say that "non consensual flirt is forbidden" but, in the end, it's full of sharks. Sorry I am not in the mood to find the exact metaphor in English. I hope to have conveyed the idea anyways. But we could even talk about dirtier beasts...

Not received explicit sexual messages, no. But it's mainly populated by men in search for every breathing hole, which hide themselves behind "true love", "friendship then further", etc. Every bottle I found into my home screen was full of those predator-like sentences, or unwanted motivational/zen/religious stuff. Deleted my account after a few hours.

Just had a look at this app, quite an interesting concept. Not everyone will be appropriate on this app I'm sure, because these sorts of apps can attract the wrong people as well as the right ones, but certainly it is another way to meet people.

In the settings, you can both block specific countries and prevent certain genders from finding your bottles and sending bottles to you.
Like any friends-meeting app, good and bad folks exist. You guys just be careful.

I think this entry incorrectly states this app is more accessible than it is. The interface is very confusing, many buttons including the tab bar are unlabeled, and I can't even swipe the bottle to throw it with voiceover.

I've already emailed the developer with the accessibility issues, and they've stated that they will hopefully be resolved for the next update.
For sending bottles, you don't swipe, you have to click the button that says, throw bottle into the sea. If you have hints enabled, it'll say, double tap to throw your bottle.
Apologies for neglecting to mention that.

The accesibility of this app leaves much to be desired. I would say the accessibility is quite poor and think the rating as it is now is misleading.

From my testing of the app, I'd say the accessibility, although definitely needs quite a bit of work, I wouldn't say it's exactly poor, because so far I've managed to still perform most of the functions in the app, so to that extent, it does work, but until the issues are fiexed by the developers, it might be worth reivaluating the rating for now, even if it'll have to be changed again should the issues be fixed, but at least it can give an accurate reflection of the accessibility for people to make an informed judgement as to whether they wish to try the app.
