Greetings all. iOS 26.3 here, and I noticed this in 26.2.1 as well. No matter what I set typing feedback to in VO settings, each time I type a letter, I hear "text field is editing" for each letter. Have tweaked around with different VO and keyboard settings, to no avail. I really don't want to have to reset VO settings. anyone out there experienced this, and come up with a fix? Or, is this just one of those this is just happening to me, and only me things.

Try dictation
Haven't of such a problem. Try dictation, or else reset voiceover. Reset settings will be your last resort.
Problem Fixed, but With a Caveat
The problem is that keyboard full access has to be turned off in accessibility settings for the on screen keyboard to not be ridiculously chatty when typing. I am not sure at what point this started, but now it seems that to control the phone with an external keyboard, one would have to remember to toggle this setting back on. Dictation is awesome, but not something that is convenient for every situation.

Re: Controlling the phone.
If you're using Voiceover, I don't think you need full keyboard access to control the phone. I think you can just use VO commands.
