Hi. I got an Eton Odyssey Weather Radio, and the last couple days, I've been getting false alerts on it. I've had the same problem with the Midland ER-50. The user manual says that the audio will turn off in Alert mode. It does, but when I leave it in Alert Mode, the siren will go off, but it won't tune to the weather broadcast. I have to manually turn the alert off with the Power button. I'm afraid to put it back in Alert Mode. I asked ChatGPT about it and it said that you can receive alerts even when the radio is powered off using the power button, not the power switch which is on top of the radio under the rubber cover. Has anyone else experienced this? I've also tried calling Eton, and there phone number doesn't seem correct. The radio hasn't received any weekly tests from the NWS yet, so I thought the first alert was the 10-day alert. That was on a Thursday. But last evening, it went off again, so I think it's the same issue as the Midland. Someone told me via YouTube that it has something to do with the 1050HZ tone that the Weather Service puts out. Somehow it mistakes noises for the tone. Thanks.
