Logitech keyboard software.

Hi all.

Anybody using Logitech keyboard software? I got an MX Keys Mini for Mac. I'm trying to disable the do not disturb key, because it keeps getting hit accidentally. I installed Logioptions Plus or whatever it was, the one without plus didn't work, and disabled it. The problem is that it seems to need to run on login in order for that to work, but every time I'd hit caps lock as VO modifier, it would say "caps lock image" and potentially put up a menu.

So I uninstalled it. Anybody know how to set it up so it doesn't do that and/or how to disable the disturb key in some other way? It's a great keyboard. I can even put up with the dumb volume up key, but the disturb key getting hit with no way to really check it other than hitting VO-m twice quickly and going into control center is really starting to annoy me.

I don't need to set do not disturb enough to need a key for it, I don't think I ever have on the Mac, and if I do, I can just set it myself. So it's not noly pointless, it's getting in the way of stuff working right.

You mean there is a software from logitech for keyboard? I have slim foleo external keyboard for my iPad 9. Where do I go to get it? Would it work for my slim foleo? LLC.

I don’t think I understand what you mean.

Do you want to disable the Caps Lock activation indicator?
There’s an option for that in the notification settings:
toggle off “Caps lock and Fn lock notifications”.

If you want to disable the Do Not Disturb key, though, I read somewhere that it might be possible to change the key mapping.
I haven’t tried it myself, so I don’t know whether it also applies to those keys on the right side.

I'll try reinstalling and see if I can find the notifications. I want to disable the DND key, but then if I do that and the software is running, I get caps lock notifications with that menu coming up. So yeah I need to do both. Thanks for the tip, off to give it a shot now.

I could probably remap the key with something, but I don't know that I really need an extra key for anything. Also hard to figure out what to map it to that wouldn't just have the same problem, e.g. if I mapped it to play or something, I'd just hit it by accident and get noises then.

I forgot to answer a question.

Yes, there's Logitech keyboard software. But I'm pretty sure it's only for Mac or PC.

Re: Caps lock notifications.

To be clear, I don't want to turn off the standard caps lock notifications with Voiceover.

If I run Logitech's software and disable a key, if that software is running in the background, and I hit say, VO-a, i.e. caps lock 'a', I hear something like "caps lock, image, menu". So I assume the Logitech software is doing something by intercepting the caps lock key. This makes Voiceover pretty hard to use. So I both want to disable a key, *and* stop whatever this behavior is, since AFAIK the Logitech software needs to be running in order to have whatever key disabled, or any other customizations you can do with it.

I did it. I have the k480 and I use the older logitech option. I am pretty sure the new mx series use the new logi option plus. There should be an option there to prevent capslock tracking by logitech software. There is definitely one in logitech option.

I don't know if I'll get around to it right now, because IIRC the software wasn't particularly accessible, I think I got my wife to disable stuff, and I don't have a way to mirror the screen handy. But it's nice to know there's a way to solve it all.
