I'm experiencing some serious issues with the iOS version of X when using VoiceOver, and I'm wondering if anyone else has run into the same problems.
The app has two timeline tabs: **For You** and **Following**. I always keep the **Following** tab selected because I prefer to see posts in chronological order.
However, I'm experiencing the following issues:
* Even though I have **Following** selected, the app frequently switches back to the **For You** timeline on its own.
* The biggest problem is that I can no longer navigate the interface reliably with VoiceOver. I used to move through posts without any difficulty, but now VoiceOver often fails to focus on posts properly, making it very difficult to browse my timeline.
I have already deleted and reinstalled the app, but the problem persists.
Is anyone else experiencing these issues, or is it just me?

Hi. I don't have an answer, but unfortunately I'm encountering similar issues here x is going through a lot of redesigns that completely rebuilt their Android app. So ironically, I actually have better access on Android right now, even when I can keep the timeline set to following. Grock is now inserting duplicates in the timeline and scrambling the order. The only way I've found to get timeline set back to following from for you is to use explore by touch. I've never found a way to do it by swiping. I hope this helps
The for you versus following is definitely happening.
Frankly, since for you gives a lot of extra garbage that I may not be interested in, I believe the random switching is done on purpose. I can usually navigate to posts fine, but getting it to refresh can be difficult.
App issue
This only started around 6 days ago and the desktop app still works fine. So, looks to me like an iOS app issue.
Twitter Navigation
I regularly use Twitter/X. I still call it Twitter... There are a few long standing annoyances when using VoiceOver, but I do have a few new problems within the last week or two.
I can confirm the For You Tab issue you mentioned. I think that's not a VO problem. It's the app pushing users to that feed because for whatever reason, that's what they want you to focus on. I see people without disabilities complaining about this all the time on my timeline. We just have to keep switching it back when we open the app.
In the last week or two, I've been seeing some old types of ads come up that may largely be the cause of the new focus issues. I think they are game ads, and in the upper right of each of those posts, there's a play button. VO gets all screwy when it runs into those, so I do the 3 finger scroll to get past them, then continue swiping through my feed. Twitter hasn't had these types of ads for quite a while, but they used to be an annoying thing. It appears they are back....
Sometimes VO will also focus on the sidebar and get all jumbled up. I just pause, and tap somewhere on the main page to bring focus back to the feed, and continue scrolling. This does happen occasionally.
I think this might be an IOS 27 beta bug, but since 27 beta 4, I sometimes get this VO problem where, when I encounter a post with a picture or video, VO will say the first word or two of the post, then start interrupting itself by describing the picture. Posts like this read all screwy. I turn VO off, and wait 5 to 10 seconds, because if I try to turn it back on right away, it seems to crash or stop responding. Once it's back up again, VO reads all posts fine again. This only really happens when I haven't use Twitter for a long time, and come back to the app.

As the subject says, Spring Mini brings the cronological design of Twitter back. I think adds are not shown there.
It's unfortunately not perfect these days, because rocket guy and his team are really killing API stuff, but the developer does everything, what is in his power to get as smooth as possible.

Same with me. I removed the app from my phone and use twitter from a PC for now.
Changing your default time line back to for you is intentional
Hi. As the subject says, the change in timeline going back to for you is intentional. It happens on Android and iOS. As far as the other issues on iOS, because the apps are now created from different code bases, the issues are different. on iOS, I'm forced to use Explore by touch to switch my timeline back to following. On Android, I can do that with swiping. Beyond that, it's hard to comment because I'm spending all of my time currently on my pixel 10 pro waiting for the next beta
Before the major rewrite, the Android app had significant accessibility issues that didn't exist on iOS. Now, it appears to have flipped again.
