Hi everyone,

I'm happy to share AudioGameAccess, a free collection of audio games built for blind and visually impaired players. It's on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and also on Windows. Everyone plays together online, whatever device they use.

What's included

  • Skill games β€” archery in three levels, bowling (place your feet, aim, throw), and Feather Flight, where a hen escaped from the farmer's truck runs as far as it can
  • Card games β€” a colour-matching card game for 2 to 10 players with its variants, Crazy Eights, Golf, President, Ninety-nine, and 1000 Miles (alone or in teams)
  • Dice games β€” a five-dice game with a score sheet, and Farkle
  • Board game β€” Parcheesi
  • Word games β€” find words in a grid of letters, and Hangman
  • Strategy β€” Sea Battle, on a grid from 8 to 15 squares wide
  • Simulation β€” Metropolis, a city builder where you are the mayor
  • Mac only β€” blackjack, Texas Hold'em poker and bingo

Every game has its own manual, and you can play offline against bots.

On iPhone and iPad

  • Native iOS menus and system alerts, so VoiceOver reads everything the usual way
  • Two play modes for card and dice games. Gesture mode β€” the whole screen is the game, VoiceOver switches to direct touch, and you play with swipes and taps. Button mode β€” you touch the real cards, dice and buttons. Great when sighted friends play with you.
  • The Actions menu lists everything you can do where you are, with the gesture for each one

On Mac

  • Full keyboard navigation with VoiceOver
  • Cmd+Shift+H lists the keys of the game you're playing
  • Automatic updates

Playing online

  • Free account
  • Open a table, invite friends or add bots
  • Text and voice chat, private messages, friends list, leaderboards
  • Save a game and finish it later with the same players

With headphones, sounds are placed around you in 3D. The game speaks English, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.

do yu guys remember a game called SixSense.
it is a zombie shooting game that the zombie coming at you more and more and faster.
you swipe left, right and up to shoot the zombie come to you from each direction swipe downto reload

Hi Ming, thanks for your message! Yes, new games keep coming. Version 1.4, just out on the App Store and on the Mac, adds Camembert Culture, a general knowledge quiz played on a board (the questions are in French only for now), and the bowling is now illustrated for sighted friends. A zombie shooter isn't planned yet, but I've noted your idea and passed it on to the team. Thanks for the suggestion!

I loved Sixth Sense on the iPhone. In recent weeks, the game has been ported to Windows, and last week, a mac version became available. It has been discussed on www.audiogames.net under the new releases room in the forum.

Hi, there’s a buckeye found in audio games, it doesn’t happen in all the time, but I was swiping my table and I picked a game but whenever I pick a game, sometimes it will kick me out of the app

Hi everyone, thanks a lot for your messages!

Jacob, thank you for reporting this. We found the cause: on some iPhones, the app could close when a list changed while you were choosing, for example in the casino's tables. It's fixed, and the fix will be in the next update on the App Store.

Ming, a card battle game like that is a nice idea: I've added it to our list.

ziixies, thanks, that's very kind!

I love this game bundle!!!!!!!! Maybe it's nerdy of me, but I really love how you can name bots. I may be in the minority, but I personally play more with bots, and I like how you can name them something that means something to you. It's got something for everyone, voice chat for the more adventurous social players, and offline mode for people like me who pop their head in and play while waiting for paratransit, or just to pass the time.

Thanks for developing this.

Even though the games don't sync between iOS and mac, and that's more than fine, it's nice having the same offline games I can play on iOS that I can play on my mac.

One thing I noticed, in uno on iOS, could there MAYBE be a gesture to say uno aside from the actions menu? I've gotten caught twice for not getting to the uno option several times when I was playing on my phone.

I don't know what gesture it would be, but it's just an idea.

Hi everyone, thanks again for your messages!

Moopie, thank you, and I'm glad you like naming the bots! Good news for Uno: there is already a gesture. Double tap with three fingers to say Uno, or to point out a player who forgot to say it. If you play with buttons instead of gestures, there is an Uno button on the screen. The Actions list every gesture of the game you're playing.

Pink_girl, thank you!

Where the project stands:

- Right now, the Mac and iPhone versions are behind the Windows version, and I'm really sorry about that. Three new games came out on Windows: I Doubt It, a card bluffing game, War, and a golf game played hole by hole on a full course. They are ready for Mac and iPhone, but not out yet. So don't be surprised if you see tables of these games in the casino that you can't join from your Mac or iPhone.
- The reason: we found a serious bug with saving tables, and we're fixing it so that everything works perfectly: soon you'll be able to save a game at any moment and resume it exactly where it was, in every game, alone or online. The situation will be back to normal soon, and the new games will come to Mac and iPhone then.
- Meanwhile, an update is on its way, for the Mac today and for the iPhone after Apple's review: 50 new, shorter notification sounds, each with its name in the Settings, and on iPhone an alert when a new version is on the App Store, with a button to update.

Thanks for your patience, and have fun!
