Precor gym, equipment, accessibility

Has anyone used a pre-core elliptical or pre-cord treadmill using the talkback feature that is supposedly accessible with the P 84 or the P 94 console on these equipment. If so, I would love to hear feedback on it or maybe get a audio demonstration of it. Pre-core has little or no information on this. All they can tell me is it should work if you just plug a headset in before touching the touchscreen. They have no type of demonstration they can supply to me. I find this pretty amazing but that’s the story.

I know this wasn't what you were asking about, but concept 2 makes some great gym equipment that is very accessible with Voiceover. Don't know if they have a similar Android app, but they might.

although they don't make a treadmill, they do make a skiing machine, a rower, and a bike. All are controlled by their fan system. Although this might not be quite as quiet as some other types of equipment that are driven by motors, it is fairly quiet.

the nice thing is that their app can be set to automatically speak out desired stats at a user requested interval.

for example, my bike speaks current wattage (power), distance, calories burned, pulse (if you are wearing an Apple watch or Concept 2's pulse monitor which they sell separately), cycles per minute, etc. You can turn any of those on or off.

also, the price of their equipment is surprisingly low compared to other major brands. This is because they do not sell through retails outlets but sell direct to consumer, thus saving the price of the middle manm.

Their equipment is robust and made for gyms. In fact, if you want to experience one, they have a list of local gyms which are using them. that is how I tried out their equipment before purchasing. Their customer support is also very friendly and quick to respond.

Anyway, I have their bike and rowing machine and have been very happy.

They can be found at:

Just another alternative if you didn't already know about them.

Peter,
Thanks for the info. Sounds like those would be good machines for at home use for me. However, I am looking specifically for an elliptical because my Jim is looking to replace their elliptical and I wanna make sure the replacement is accessible.

Thanks again
Tom.
