Issues with Ringtones & Eloquence voice?

Apple Beta Releases

Hello,
I am not currently running the 26.4 beta but am seriously considering running it, hoping it fixes both of the following issues I've been facing.
At random, the Reed variant of the Eloquence voice will suddenly & completely go silent.
Also, my ringtone will not play.
With the Voiceover voice issue, I'm using the Reed variant of Eloquence.
Regarding my ringtone, it tends to quit working when used in conjunction with the app my employer uses for our phone system.
Both issues happen so randomly that I cannot reliably reproduce them.
Has anyone seen either of these issues?
If not, I may be more likely to upgrade.
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Share Your Bug Reports with AppleVis

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.

All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

When eloquence goes completely silent, do you still hear VoiceOver navigation sounds or feel haptics?

About your ringtone, is the third-party phone system’s app using one of the system ringtones, or is it an app specific ringtone like Microsoft teams for instance?

You probably have already checked these, but make sure your sound volume is up, in settings, sounds and haptics, using the sound volume slider.

Also, if the change with buttons setting is turned on, if you turn your main phone volume down(such as turning down music, apps/games, and any other type of media), that will affect your ringtone volume as well. I’d recommend turning it off and setting the sound volume to a fixed level.
Also make sure you’re not in silent mode. If you have an iPhone 15(not including iPhone 15 Pro models) or older(including the iPhone SE, except for the 16 E), check your mute switch. If you have a phone with an action button, you can see whether silent mode is on or off in sounds and haptic settings.
You can also see the status of silent mode in the control center.

Even if you've tried this, restart your phone, and if that doesn't work, if you can safely do so without losing anything, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the phone app for your work, but first check the settings I mentioned first.

The regular iPhone 15 and a 15+ also still have a beat switch. I know because this is actually the reason that I got an iPhone 15. I didn’t really like the action button when I felt it on a 16 in the Apple Store. Hopefully your settings will get fixed with eloquence nearing toe.

Forgot about that.

It’s OK. I guess I would’ve forgotten that too. If I had one of those fancy pro phones or something. You ever needed one of those so I probably will end up getting those. I’ve never really needed those so I probably won’t know.

Good morning, Levi & all,
My work uses a 3rd-party app for our phone system but it does use the default ringtone of the iphone.
My ringtone volume is currently set at 25%, which is perfect for me.
Change with buttons is off.
As far as VoiceOver is concerned, I have sounds disabled. Haptics still work, but only sometimes.
FYI, I made a backup to my mac last night & decided to install 26.4, so I'm typing this comment using my iPhone 16 pro max, which now runs the 26.4 dev beta.
