Hello AppleVis community,
I’m posting to see if anyone here has heard of or used SpaceHey — a fan-based revival of the classic MySpace-style social network. It brings back customizable profiles, music, blogs, forums, and that nostalgic early-2000s personal web feel.
Back in the day (long before Facebook), I used the original MySpace quite a bit and enjoyed the creative freedom it offered. I’m curious about people’s opinions and experiences with SpaceHey today.
The main reason for this post is accessibility-related: the signup process has a visual-only challenge (no audio alternative). I had to rely on Be My AI to attempt it, but it repeatedly said my answers were incorrect even when they matched the image.
Note that SpaceHey is currently invite-only, which adds another layer for those trying to get in. Has anyone in the community been able to successfully create an account or gain access?
If so:
• What was your experience with the signup process and overall VoiceOver accessibility?
• What are your general opinions on the site once inside?
Any insights, workarounds, or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not really much for social media, so I cannot say that I have tried to get into SpaceHey. I am curious though, as to why this is invite only? I feel like I am missing something here...

Yes, I used to love it back in the day, I always wish that it would come back, but unfortunately I think Tom sold it and he’s doing other things now with photography, I think, and I just stumbled across it a day ago, and thanks for sharing the app link, I didn’t think about doing that.
my thoughts
last night, installed this app. I couldn't get past the captcha either, so i emailed the com[any tosee if there can be an alternative. the login and signup buttons, are not identified as buttons by VoiceOver.
