Tanklet: Idle Fish Aquarium

Category

Description of App

Tanklet is a cozy aquarium game where you raise a tank of fish that's truly yours. Feed them, clean the tank, keep the water healthy, and watch them drift through a beautifully rendered aquarium — all the joy and companionship of fishkeeping, none of the cost or mess.

■ Care for your fish
Feed on schedule, clean the tank, and manage water quality. Well-cared-for fish stay healthy, happy, and earn more coins. Neglect them and they get listless or sick — but good care always brings them back. Your fish never die.

■ Rare visitors
Wild fish drop by from time to time. Feed them, keep the water clean, and set out the decorations they love — treat them well and they may stay for good. The rarer the visitor, the pickier they are.

■ Personalities & bonds
Every fish has its own personality. Greet them daily and serve their favorite treats to deepen your bond, unlocking little stories and rewards.

■ Collect & breed
From clownfish, blue tang and angelfish to golden arowana and koi, collect distinctive species and fill your codex. Breed pairs for offspring, with a chance at rare variants and shiny fish.

■ Eggs with honest odds
Hatch mystery eggs for new species — drop rates are disclosed before every purchase, with a pity system that guarantees rare finds.

■ Send fish on treasure hunts
Pick 1–2 fish for expeditions to the reef, a shipwreck, or the deep abyss. Hours later they return with coins, decorations — sometimes even pearls. Strong bonds and healthy fish bring better luck.

■ Make the tank yours
Buy and freely place plants, driftwood, rocks and more. Resize, restyle, and decorate your tank exactly how you like it.

■ More tanks, real ecosystems
Save up for a second and third tank: freshwater, saltwater and coral ecosystems each boost matching fish. Every tank has its own theme and decorations, and fish can move anytime.

■ Ambient Mode: put your tank in a room
Hide the interface and let your tank live in a warm little room. Nine rooms to swap — an indigo moon window, a brick loft, a green library, a coastal cottage… each room's light truly falls into the water. Keep the screen on and it becomes living furniture.

■ Grows while you're away
Close the app and your fish keep you company while coins keep accruing. Come back to collect offline earnings and see what happened.

■ Calm, anywhere
A Home Screen widget brings your tank to your desktop; soft water-sound ambience helps you unwind; iCloud keeps your tank in sync across devices.

No ads, no third-party SDKs, zero data collection — your tank is yours alone.

Subscribe to Tanklet+ for double coins, offline earnings extended 8→24 hours, auto-care while away, a monthly pearl gift, and exclusive decor.

Slow down. Keep some fish.

This sounds like a game I used to play called mobile aquarium, but it sounds like this one has a ton more to do.

By Paige on Friday, October 23, 2026 - 13:03

I reached the tutorial step where it says I can send my fish on expeditions, and to tap the tray icon, but I can't figure out whatbutton that is referring to.

I also have the same problem! I'm wondering if maybe I can't actually send my fish out yet? But not sure what to do to get them to level up enough so I can send them out

The treasure hunt is under storage. It's kind of a weird place. I didn't even think about that when I was writing about the changes. I feel like it definitely should be put in the main page, or directly in the more dialog with the arcade and the treats. Storage is such a weird place to put it. That's what the tray icon is.

So I can clean my tank by cleaning the water, but I see no way to clean the algae out of my tank. There’s no button or anything to push. Has anyone else figured out how to do this with voiceover?

By Leela on Saturday, October 24, 2026 - 02:26

Double tap on the algae to wipe it away. If it's not coming off with a few doubble taps, there's a bug.

Hi everyone, I'm the developer of Tanklet. Thanks Lexi for posting it here, and Leela for answering faster than I could.

Expedition is under the Storage button at the top right of the tank. That tutorial bubble talking about a "tray icon" was my mistake, it means nothing with VoiceOver. The update that's out today already says Storage instead. In the next one you'll also find Expedition in the More menu, next to Arcade and Treats, and when the water needs changing the tank will tell you where Clean is (More, then Clean).

Algae: find a spot on the glass and double-tap, one double-tap per spot. If one won't go away, tell me, that's a bug.

Today's update also adds sound effects in the tank: food dropping, fish eating, wiping the glass, changing water, coins. If you find anything else, just post here or email me at info@smartkiitos.com.

There is an achievement for having a second tank, but I don't know how to unlock it. I don't really care about the achievement, but I ran out of space a while ago and expanding my first tank is expensive for a single slot.
Am I missing something?

Nice game btw, my daughter loves decorating my aquarium and playing the arcade games.
VoiceOver works well. Only navigating by swiping left and right can sometimes be difficult. Most of the time this is no real problem, only when in the more menu, it still keeps selecting all the fish instead of the menu items.
But all in all a good job, thanks Lemon!

I feel like I should try this out. Sounds cool.

By Lumen0 on Sunday, October 25, 2026 - 01:07

Extremely cute game. If there is algae, you guys can wipe it with a rotor action. Position the cursor where it tells you About the state of your tank and the number of your fish, then swipe down. Good as new.

I have noticed that when you wipe the glass, the water also becomes clean. Or so voiceover says. Does that actually happen? It’s really convenient if so.

Thank you so much for the game.

By Lemon on Sunday, October 25, 2026 - 07:41

Update is out: Expedition is now in the More menu, and VoiceOver tells you where Clean is when the water needs changing.

By Lemon on Sunday, October 25, 2026 - 07:46

Nick, the second tank costs 50,000 coins. Right now the New Tank button only shows up next to the tank switcher at the top once you have enough, which is why you never found it. In the next update it'll always be there, and VoiceOver reads the price. Glad your daughter likes decorating!

The More menu thing is fixed too: next update, when More is open VoiceOver stays inside the menu, and a two-finger scrub closes it.

Lumen0, yes, wiping the glass really cleans the water as well.

Leela, thanks, happy to be here.

I am having fun with this app! However the arcade games are difficult to play with voiceover especially the claw game. I can't seem to figure out the shark dodge or fish matching game, not sure if I'm doing something wrong though.

If you swipe left or right according to the fish and its habitat, like you do with direct touch, it works well... Until Voiceover randomly stops pronouncing the fish on the screen and lifes run out before you know it. It also sometimes says play area, then starts explaining how to play rather than telling you about the passing fish. Although the verbosity issue is alleviated by disabling the speak hints setting, focus still jumps to playing area on occasion, failing to announce the fish to come.

Moreover, when I encountered a shark once, I didn’t touch the screen and VO was silent. When it announced the next fish at last, I swiped, only to find out I'd startled the shark. Was it that selfsame shark, or a new one VO didn’t announce? I can’t tell. And at another point I startled a shark without knowing it was there to begin with.

in short, you’re not fully clear as to what is going on. That’s why my thoughts seem a bit confused, probably.

What’s your experience?

I don’t know about the reef match. Never been the biggest fan of grid-based games, honestly. And my phone just crashes when I open bubble claw.

Hi Ronit, glad you're having fun! You weren't doing anything wrong, shark dodge had real problems with VoiceOver and the next update fixes them. More on that in my reply to Lumen0.

For the claw and reef match, where do you get stuck? For example, does VoiceOver read the joystick in the claw, or the cells in reef match? That helps me fix the right thing.

Lemon

Thanks, this was really helpful. You were right, the fish names sometimes came late or got cut off. When you lost a life, the "missed" message talked over the next fish's name, so you could startle a shark you never heard about.

In the next update you'll hear a low beep for fish going left, a high beep for right, and an alarm for a shark, so you don't have to rely on speech. Swipes do nothing while a shark is in front. Tap the play area once to hear what's in front again. Focus also stays in the play area now, and the instructions aren't read again in the middle of a game.

The claw crash I couldn't reproduce yet. Which iPhone and iOS version do you have?
